Ronald Morris joined Fairfield Elementary Magnet in July 2020, following 25 years of service in Texas public schools. His career began at Thomas Tolbert Elementary in Dallas where he taught 6th grade and Kindergarten. Ron had many roles in the Dallas Independent School District including Reading First Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Before joining Caddo Parish Public Schools, he was the K-12 Headmaster of Tyler Classical Academy.
Dr. Morris grew up in Riverside, CA and attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Elementary/Middle School before graduating from Riverside’s Arlington High School. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in History from Louisiana Tech University. Focusing on leadership and teaching, he completed his Doctorate of Education in School Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2006. His dissertation investigated the impact of improving reading achievement through increased instructional time and focused professional development.
“My goal is to help make Fairfield the premier elementary magnet school in Caddo Parish,” said Morris. He believes that focusing on student achievement, school pride, and community involvement are key in creating high performing schools. Furthermore, he understands that partnerships with parents and the community are essential in creating an enriching experience at Fairfield Elementary Magnet.
Dr. Morris’ wife is a 2nd grade teacher at Waskom Elementary School. They have one daughter, Mary who attends the University of Nebraska Medical School. During his free time, Ron enjoys golfing, walking his dog, and spending time with family.
